Comedy Night

Tuesday, September 21st, 8pm to 10pm
Rose d'Or Festival Centre, Zeugheersaal, Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne

At this year’s Comedy Night the Rose d’Or is presenting five excellent artists, representing four different countries and four different styles of comedy entertainment. But they have one thing in common - Rebecca Carrington and Colin Brown, Michael Gammenthaler, Rob Spence, and Henning Wehn love to entertain and they do brilliantly.

Thomas Hermanns - one of Germany’s most popular comedians - will host the Comedy Night. He became known as the godfather of the German stand-up comedy boom with his show “Quatsch Comedy Club”.

The Artists

Rebecca Carrington and Colin Brown from England combine music performance and comedy in a brilliant and hilarious performance. They have won many awards and are an international cabaret sensation. Together with “Joe”, the 18th century cello, the two artists parody all genres of music, from classic and opera to jazz and pop.

Michael Gammenthaler, a young Swiss magician and comedian, combines magic and stand-up comedy in a unique way and is well known throughout Europe. This year he has been awarded with the Salzburger Stier, the most prestigious prize for comedy in the German speaking world.

Rob Spence was born in Australia and lives in Switzerland. He is clown, acrobat, stand-up comedian, parodist and slap stick artist rolled into one. With his seemingly boneless body and rubber face, Rob Spence is a real comedy power package. His quick-fire stand-up and extraordinary physical comedy skills combined bring to mind Robin Williams and Jim Carrey – in the same body.

Henning Wehn
is the best-known German stand-up comedian in Great Britain. He lives in England and was a regular guest in the comedy show “FAQ U” on Channel 4 and on BBC Radio 4 and Five Live. His stand-up act plays on German/British stereotypes and audiences are spared no cliché on Germans in the UK. He might just be the only German comic making English people laugh…
