About Rose d’Or

The prestigious Rose d’Or Awards define the gold standard for excellence and achievement in International TV and Audio programme making.

The Rose d’Or began in 1961, when it was created by Swiss Television in the lakeside city of Montreux and has been a flagship event for the European Broadcasting Union and the international TV industry ever since.

In 2019 the EBU partnered with international publishing company and digital channels business C21Media to take over the organisation of the Rose d’Or Awards.

The 58th Rose d’Or was hosted for the first time in Kings Place, London, in December 2019 by Sir Lenny Henry; the 59th Annual Awards was hosted by comedian Nish Kumar as an all-digital event, because of Covid restrictions, in December 2020; the 60th Anniversary awards were hosted as a digital and in-person event, by Sue Perkins.

The 61st Awards was hosted by Alex Horne, star and creator of the international hit Taskmaster, a former Rose d’Or nominee.

Recent recipients of Rose d’Or Special Awards include Brian Cox, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Sir David Attenborough, Maren Kroymann, Brenda Blethyn, Omar Sy, Ricky Gervais, Ncuti Gatwa, Daisy Edgar Jones, Yasmin Finney, Joanna Lumley, James Corden, Angela Lansbury, Jan Böhmermann and John Cleese.
