Chris Clenshaw is a BAFTA-winning TV producer. He is currently the Executive Producer on the BBC’s flagship continuing drama, EastEnders, taking the reins as showrunner in January 2022. Previously, Chris worked in development at Vertigo Films and Rope Ladder Fiction and was a co-producer on ScreenSkills’ High End TV Skills Fund. Chris joined the BBC in 2015 as a Trainee Storyliner for EastEnders, after beating more than 650 other candidates to the role. He went on to become a storyliner, script editor, story editor and story producer within two-and-a-half years before leaving EastEnders to produce continuing drama Holby City. Prior to his career in scripted drama, Chris produced and worked across a multitude of TV shows and genres. Last year, Chris ranked number 17 in the Radio Times TV Top 100 List of ‘people who changed the entertainment landscape for the better in 2022’. The Radio Times said ‘Clenshaw is proving himself to be a master of the genre.’ This year, Chris ranked number 11 with the Radio Times saying, ‘Chris Clenshaw is, quite simply, a master of soap… He’s turned EastEnders back into appointment viewing and proven soaps are not to be looked down upon and have more relevance than ever in today’s viewing habits.’
