Dario Turovelzky is Senior Vice President of Viacom International Media Networks AMERICAS and Viacom International Studios. Based in Argentina, Turovelzky reports directly to Juan “JC” Acosta, Executive Vice President and COO of Viacom International Media Networks Americas (VIMN).
With more than 25 years of experience in the production and development of content, and a great career in the audiovisual industry, Dario entered Telefe, the leading free to air channel in Argentina, in 1996. Then retires from the company for a period of 14 years and returns to Telefe in 2012 as Head of Programming and acquisitions, having the challenge of developing and managing all the fiction and entertainment content production.
After Viacom acquisition of Telefe, from 2017 Dario became the co-leader of Viacom South Cone business, a task he performs with Guillermo Campanini, COO of Viacom South Cone. Dario is the strategic Senior Vice President of programming and content production for all Viacom channels in the southern cone, which include MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Paramount Channel, VH1, in addition to Telefe.
In 2018, Dario incorporated a responsibility for the strategic planning of the global contents of VIMN Americas and the Viacom International Studios (VIS), a unit for development, production and distribution of Viacom contents around the globe.
Among the main recently achievements of VIS, it is relevant to mention that the study business growth in two digits in terms of revenue and increased hours of production in different countries around the world. Also, can be mentioned that VIS developed co-production agreements with main content producing companies such as, RAI, TV Azteca, MEGA, Telemundo, The Mediapro Studios, Ay Yapim, Convergence Entertainment or AtresMedia and the closing of First Look Deal agreements with talents like Juan José Campanella, one of the most relevant producers, directors and content developers in Latin America, USA and Europe.
In his extensive career, Dario has worked as an executive producer on projects such as “Popstars” or “The Amazing Race”, while he had an important step in RGB Entertainment, one of the most important production companies in Latin America, in the role of Content Director. From there he was in charge of production, content development and programming in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Panama and Argentina. From his role as Director of Content, he led the scripted and unscripted projects of “Floricienta”, “Casi Angeles”, “Million Dollar Drop”, “Celebrity Circus”, “Chiquititas” and “Alma Pirata” among the most relevant.
In addition, Turovelzky produced on two occasions for Argentina the transmission of the Academy Awards (Oscars) from Los Angeles, The Amazing Race (Latam version), the Susana Giménez show and many other successful formats from international companies such as Endemol Shine, Sony Pictures, Fremantle Media, Talpa, Keshet and Fox, to mention the most relevant.
Born in Argentina, Turovelzky is 43 years old and holds a Media Degree, specialized in Graphic Design and Advertising Art Direction. Dario is married and has four children.
