Sophie Ferron

Sophie Ferron has over 25 years of award-winning Format production, development, and distribution experience, including as Endemol’s exclusive French Canada agent. A second-generation producer, she helped pioneer the Canadian unscripted format business and leads Media Ranch on the creation and sale of unscripted format IP, solidifying its worldwide expertise status. Internationally, Sophie is a business and government affairs consultant on the Canadian media landscape, speaking at events like MIPTV, MIPCOM and SXSW. As a top Canadian distributor, Media Ranch is a Member of CACE (Canadian Association of Content Exporters), and Sophie sits on the Board. She is an elected Member of the International Emmy organization (IATAS) and FRAPA, and a Rose d’Or and International Emmy Awards juror. Media Ranch created and produces the globally-known Horsepower incubator with three editions to-date, launching new format creatives whose shows have been globally commissioned/optioned.

Media Ranch is Member of CACE (Canadian Association of Canadian Exporters). Sophie sat on Board of Directors of Quebec’s SODEC; was a Banff World Media Festival French Advisory Board member and former President of the Association des Studios d’en Registrement du Québec, the actors’ guild. Prior to creating Media Ranch in 2008, Sophie held senior management positions with Astral Media, TQS, and Technicolor. Media Ranch has offices in Montreal, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Poland.
