Vanessa Chapman

Vanessa is an award-winning, senior media executive whose career has spanned all media platforms including radio, television, film, digital media and global Family Brands.
Vanessa has extensive proven experience in development, production, commissioning, strategy, business planning and fund raising.
Vanessa runs VJC Media, a creative and business agency that engages globally with creators, broadcasters, media companies, brands, investors, and a variety of government and trade organisations. She recently helped broker a UK company acquisition by a major European media grouping.
Vanessa is a former Controller of Children’s & Family Programmes at ITV, where she ran a £40 million + production and acquisition budget. She went on to help develop the strategy and spearhead the LEGO Company’s entry into the global television and movie business, with one of the key credits being multi-award-winning movie and toy franchise, BIONICLE
Vanessa is a frequent speaker/panellist at major industry events in the UK, Europe and the US. She is Content Director for the European Cartoon organisations newest Masters’ events, CartoonNext, and is chair at Cartoon Business. She sits on the board/advisory board of a number of companies, including media networking organisation The Centurions, with members from the telecoms, digital, gaming industry, broadcast, finance and investment organisations.
Vanessa started her career as a national newspaper journalist, winning one of ten places on the Mirror Group Newspaper’s Editorial Training Scheme, going on to work at the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and Mail on Sunday, before joining BBC Radio and then London Weekend Television in the current affairs and popular factual department, rising to senior programme editor.
