Sunita Uchil is a veteran media executive with over 30 years of experience spanning television, radio, and print. Known for her strategic vision in international co-productions and content syndication, she played a key role in expanding Zee TV’s global footprint during her 15-year tenure.
She is the founder and CEO of Karman Unlimited, a specialized content company launched in January 2024, focused on premium co-productions and format adaptations across India and the MENA region. The company also curates a select catalogue of acclaimed finished programming from around the world.
A driving force behind the export of Indian content, Uchil has led numerous initiatives that positioned India as a serious contender in global content markets. Her efforts have not only increased the international reach of finished series but also opened new pathways in format remakes and adaptations. She has also championed factual co-productions, serving as executive producer on acclaimed science and wildlife titles such as The Life of Earth from Space and Lions: Now or Never.
In 2016, The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the 20 Most Powerful Women in Global Television, recognizing her influence on the international media landscape. In 2022, she became the first Indian representative appointed to the advisory board of FRAPA (Format Recognition and Protection Association). Uchil has also served as a juror for major industry awards, including the International Emmys, Content Asia Awards, and the World Trailer Awards.
